Sand Dollar Guided Tours
Guides are trained in kayaking, first aid, safety procedures, navigation and carry VHF radios.
Full day - 8.30am to 4.30pm
Includes lunch, drinks, guide and equipment.
Depart from Shela Beach, paddle alongside the Lamu walkway, see Old Lamu from the water and learn about the architecture, culture and history. Cross over to Manda Island in your kayak, enter Takwa mangrove creek, pass coral rock excavators and arrive at Takwa Ruins. After a tour of the ruins enjoy a picnic lunch on Manda beach, relax, have a swim and look across at Lamu Island. In the cool of the afternoon set off back, passing Shella and returning to Talking Trees Beach (route may vary with tides, excludes museum fees).

(3) Using the high tide, enter Takwa Creek and paddle through the mangrove channels to Takwa Ruins (excludes museum fees).

Includes meals, drinks, guide and all kayak and camping equipment.
Depart from Shela Beach, paddle past Lamu Town and circle around Manda Island through the Mkanda Channel. Enter Manda Bay and arrive at Manda Toto Island. Enjoy activities such as snorkelling, fishing and camping. As a separate tour or include it as an add on to Manda Toto, paddle up Takwa Creek during high tide. Visit Takwa Ruins and camp on Manda Island. Enjoy activities such as museum walks, swimming on the quiet north beach, and taking long beach walks (timing depends on tides, excludes museum fees).
